Route Description
Begin from the car park and head through the gate. The forest road continues uphill and under some power lines to a small clearing near the top of the climb (children may have to walk this climb which lasts for 0.7km).
Continue on the main forest road which bears left. Loch Kennard will appear on your right at approximately 2km in, this is a beautiful location for a snack break. There is an option at the end of Loch Kennard to follow the core path network (green arrow) signs to the right and make your return journey from here. To continue on towards the much smaller Loch Scoly carry on straight, without branching off the main road, Loch Scoly is approximately 4.8km into the total route. At this point you may choose to retrace your steps or continue round the loop.
If you choose to continue with the whole 2 Loch Loop at
approximately 5.3km into the route you meet a T-junction, turn right and continue following this main forest road. At approximately 8.6km you will see a forest road on your left, ignore this and continue straight, again at approximately 10.2km you may see a path on your right ignore this and continue on the main forest road at 12.3km where you will meet your outward forest road. Turn left here and back to the car park.
