Route Description

Adaptive gravel routes have been ridden and audited by Adaptive Riders Collective. Perthshire Gravel supplies maps, GPX data, a description of the trails and images of any obstacles so that riders can make their own decision of route suitability for their equipment and ability.
Please also be aware of how weather can affect trail conditions.

Adaptive routes are more likely to be suited to less-skilled riders, families towing cycles or trailers, riders of tricycles, or riders unable to manage lifting cycles over gates or fences. Whilst every endeavour is made to clearly describe routes and obstacles, Perthshire Gravel does not control or regularly review routes and therefore makes no guarantee of accessibility.

We have started this route from Auchterarder Park. There is and small carpark at the park or there is free parking along the High Street in Auchterarder. Head west (uphill) along the high street to the top of town to find the park on your left.

Head to the bottom let hand side of the park - picking up the Provosts Walk. Turn left and follow the rote until you reach the river.

Once you reach the river you need to bare right onto the track - there is a kerb to negotiate here. This track takes you under the A9. Turn left and follow up to meet the road. At the junction continue straight up on the road.

Follow this road until a left hand turn signposted to Coulshill and a waymark sign to Glen Shurup. Turn left and continue on the road.

When you see some big gates on your right you can take the left hand gravel trail that continues up the glen, however teh GPX for this route takes you up the road as this is not adaptive cycle friendly due to two river crossings. Assistance was needed to cross them due to steep gradient and loss of traction - and one was too deep for the adaptive cycles due to battery placement.

We advise that adaptive riders stay on the road - but if you fancy an explore then you can always turn at the river crossing. The gravel route heads parallel to the road and re-joins further up. The GPX follows the road. Please ensure that you consult a map if you wish to try to the gravel route. The road is very pretty too!

Continue up the road until you reach a locked farm gate on the left and forestry deer gates straight on. Follow this gravel trail as far as you wish! The views are amazing!

We have designed the GPX to continue beyond Corb Glen at a nice viewpoint before doubling back the same way back to Auchterarder.
