Day Rides

The proximity to public transport was a key criteria to select starting points for the routes. The day rides start from Dunkeld, Pitlochry, Blair Atholl, Rannoch Station and Aberfeldy – all but one are connected to the train network, served frequently by Scotrail and Caledonian Sleeper services.

While we did our best to cater to as many people as possible, those routes only represent a small proportion of the opportunities you can find in Highland Perthshire. They are ideas to fuel your own adventure on two wheels. You can either shorten some or make them easier by using quiet roads and other trails as short-cuts, or combine multiple routes into a big day out.

A collection with all routes and an overview map are available on Komoot here. Information on distance, ascent, terrain, route category, riding time, start and finish, parking, public transport, key facilities and which maps to use can be found on the individual route pages.

For a challenging, multi day ride, we recommend the Highland Perthshire Drovers Trail bikepacking route.
